1997 Project Planning

A technical programme was drawn, amounting to GRD 1,075,674,462 from which GRD 686,161,962 were drawn from municipal funds and GRD 389,512,500 from public investment. Analytically:

Building works

    a) Repairs and restorations amounting to GRD 46,000,000 are planned for municipal buildings.
    b) For the completion of the repair of the historic building of Orpheas Street GRD 42,736,431.
    c) For the completion of the construction of the Wholesale Centre, GRD 85,053,000.
    d) For the repair of the traditional building on 1 Antiqua Street, GRD 117,000,000.
    e) For the maintenance of the traditional building of the Municipal Market GRD 250,000,000.
Electrical lighting projects
    For maintenance GRD 27,000,000 and for the purchase of materials and light units, GRD 7,500,000.
For reformations-changes in utility areas
    a) in gardens and tree lines, GRD 72,000,000 for maintenance.
    b) For the construction of parking spaces in the centre of the city, GRD 300,000,000.
Athletic projects
    For the continuance of the construction of the Indoor Athletic Centre of the Municipality of Xanthi, GRD 330,000,000.
Road Projects
    a) For the maintenance of roads and sidewalks GRD 126,924,000.
    b) For the reformation of Konitsis, Georgiou Stavrou and side streets, GRD 135,000,000.
    c) For the reformation of Panagi Tsaldari Street GRD 230,000,000.
