NURSERY AND PRESCHOOL
OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF XANTHI

According to the provisions of article 42 of the 2218/1994 Law, former State Nursery and Pre-school devolved to local administration and function as Municipal legal entities according to the provisions of the articles of Presidential Decree 10/1995.

Municipality of Xanthi was one of the first municipalities to take over those schools (together with municipalities of Rhodes and Volos), and since May 1995 it has established a legal entity named Nurseries and Pre-school Stations of Xanthi, administered by a Administrative Council consisted of nine members. The whole service consists of one Directorate and eight Divisions, seven of which function as nurseries and one as pre-school. Potential of the Stations comes up to 500 children of preschool age, while there ‘s 40 people personnel ( 23 educational personnel and 17 assistant personnel).

The Nursery aims to provide the everyday holding, taking care, nourishment, education and entertainment of the babies and infants who have working parents, as well as the social and soul and body development of the children, so that their transition from family to the school environment happens naturally.
