![]() Folklore Museum of Xanthi
These are two two-storey traditional buildings, covering an area of 448 sq.m. each.
They were built between 1870-1880 and belonged to the tobacco-producing family Kouyioumtzoglou.
The first, houses the Folklore Museum, while the second belongs to the Union of Xanthi.
The second building underwent restoration of the murals featured in its interior walls in 1993. Works are to be continued in the adjacent building which houses the Folkloric Museum. Concurrently, the common exterior is in need of restoration, while few works remain to be done to its interior.
